Are Summer at Brentwood programs open to the public?

Yes! We enrich the summers of approximately 800 students, grades K-12, from across the globe.

Please note: The "Travel Section" of Upper School credit courses is only available to students currently enrolled at Brentwood School.

How do children of Veterans apply for a scholarship?

Brentwood School offers children of Veterans the opportunity to enjoy Summer at Brentwood without the burden of tuition; full scholarships are based on availability and VA approval.

What are the dates for Summer at Brentwood programs?

June 10 - August 2, 2019

All camps are on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability and age requirements. Check the individual links to camps for more information on start dates for specific programs. When classes reach capacity, a waitlist is automatically generated.

What are camp hours?

Camps begin at 8:00 a.m. End times vary by camp/class, but usual pick-up time is 2:30 p.m. Camps run anywhere from one to six hours a day and span one week to three weeks.

Is lunch included?

For all full-day camps, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., lunch is included. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on your registration profile and notify camp staff upon arrival. For courses or camps that travel off-campus for events or activities, some meals may not be included.

Is after-care available?

We offer extended care programming for K-8 campers at a rate of $60/week. Campers must be picked up by 5:00 p.m. Online registration is required for extended care. Extended care is supervised by a full-time Brentwood staff member from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

What is the process for the first day of camp?

For students in grades K-8, we ask that on the first day of camp (Mondays), you walk your child to the designated registration location to check in for the first session. The process takes only a few minutes. Once you have checked in your child, you may leave. Pick-up will be at the designated pick-up location, and starting Tuesday, please drop off your child at the designated drop-off location.

We have counselors that will escort your child to the morning camps.

Can I switch camps/classes during the program?

Because of course planning and staffing, switching may not be available. Switching weeks and/or programs during camp may only be approved by the Summer Programs Director; no refunds or partial refunds will be issued due to a switch. In cases where the cost of the new session is greater than the session being replaced, the price difference will be charged to the original form of payment. All changes are based on availability and age requirements.

What is the refund policy?

A $25 non-refundable application fee is collected for each camper (not each class). If you register and need to cancel, you may do so for a full refund, less the $25 application fee, until May 31, 2019. Beginning on June 1, 2019, you will receive a 50% refund of the camp fees, less the $25 application fee. Once the selected program has begun, there is a 0% refund policy. Courses with travel components have additional policies that may override this general refund policy. 

What if the class my child wants is full?

When a camp program reaches full capacity, we automatically start a waitlist through the registration website. If we receive a cancellation, we will notify waitlisted campers of availability. 

How do I pay for camp?

Campers must register using our online system. All mandatory forms (medical, waiver/liability) must be submitted prior to payment. Payment is due in-full at the time of registration, paid by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) only.

What if my class is cancelled?

On a rare occasion, we may need to cancel a class due to under-enrollment. If this occurs, we will do our best to accommodate a new class/camp selection. You are entitled to a 100% refund if we need to cancel due to under-enrollment.

What is the attendance policy for credit courses?

If a student is absent more than two days from a yearlong credit course, regardless of the circumstances, s/he will be automatically un-enrolled from the course and a "Withdraw" will be noted on the transcripts. For a semester-long class, students may not be absent more than one day, with the same consequences. See below for information from the Brentwood School Upper School Family Handbook.

"Summer Session: Students have until the end of the second day of the Summer Session to drop a class without penalty. After the end of the second day, Brentwood School records a “Withdraw” on school transcripts when students drop their [yearlong] credit courses. In all cases, if students drop courses, tuition for the Summer Session is non-refundable."
