The United States History course fulfills the goals of a survey course, covering history from colonial North America to the present. This course provides students with the ability to evaluate historical evidence, do comparative analyses, and develop sound historical arguments based on multiple perspectives of historical events. The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the nation’s political, economic, diplomatic, and social history in order to be informed and responsible citizens.
The summer course is writing-intensive, and assessments will consist of essays, written quizzes, and in-class presentations.
