Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Grades: 10 – 12
This is a general chemistry course for a lab-science requirement. It focuses on the behavior of atoms, the behavior of substances in solution, the behavior of nuclear particles and the chemistry of carbon compounds. It emphasizes the modern concepts of the atom, periodic law, bonding, kinetic molecular theory, acids, bases and salts, chemical reactions and oxidation-reduction, with a variety of experiments done in the laboratory. Students will need a scientific calculator. (Note: This course does not fulfill the prerequisites for AP Chemistry. Brentwood students planning to take AP Chemistry must take a full year-long course of Chemistry or Honors Chemistry).
Tuition: $1800 (textbook fees are additional)
